Your Story

We're hiring an Account Director to own client relationships and delivery across Story's brand, strategy, communications, and video work. You'll be the day-to-day partner clients trust, connecting their business goals to strong creative work and making sure projects run well. You'll also help build the account team and processes as Story grows into a full-service creative agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client relationships and understand each account's business, audience, product, and goals.

  • Partner with creative, strategy, and production teams to develop and present strong ideas.

  • Own scopes of work, budgets, staffing, and account profitability.

  • Manage project status, meeting recaps, next steps, and communication across teams.

  • Secure purchase orders, coordinate procurement requirements, and track invoicing and payment follow-up.

  • Review work before delivery and make sure client feedback has been addressed.

  • Identify opportunities to grow accounts and contribute to pitches and proposals.

  • Help build account processes and mentor team members as we grow.

Requirements:

  • Substantial agency account experience managing complex projects across multiple disciplines.

  • Experience owning scopes, budgets, and the commercial health of client accounts.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to connect business challenges to creative recommendations.

  • Consistent follow-through across details, deadlines, and commitments.

  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in San Francisco.

Bonus:

  • Experience with deep-tech, science, or founder-led companies.

  • Familiarity with video production from concept through delivery.

  • Experience building processes or teams at a growing agency.

  • Confidence presenting ambitious ideas and guiding clients through feedback.

  • An instinct for spotting opportunities before the client asks.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $165,000. Your final offer will depend on your experience, skills and level.
